Leading Through Coaching in Tech
This program is designed for leaders, coaches, and change agents in technology organizations who want to lead through coaching—bringing a coach’s mindset, presence, and skills to everyday interactions. Rather than directing others toward predetermined outcomes, participants learn to foster clarity, alignment, and forward momentum by partnering with individuals, teams, and organizations.
Grounded in the ICF Core Competencies and shaped by the realities of tech-driven work, the program shows how coaching supports distributed leadership, shared ownership, and continuous adaptation.
Participants learn and practice all core professional coaching competencies, including creating coaching agreements, active listening, powerful questioning, presence, and supporting accountability. Learning is highly experiential, with practice sessions, instructor feedback, and 10 hours of mentor coaching from a PCC-level coach.
The course is taught entirely in English and delivered online using Zoom and Mural.
Accreditation Paths
We have both ICF Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching Education Provider accreditation. This enables us to offer training that can be used to apply for the ICF ACC or PCC credential.

How This Program Can Help You
If you lead in tech—through people, ideas, or initiatives—you’ve likely found that some challenges don’t respond as well to traditional approaches as you might like—even when you’re already incorporating some coaching. Conversations stall. Progress plateaus. Capable people hesitate. Coaching skills won’t fix everything, but they can accelerate breakthroughs—both in others and in how you lead.
A big part of coaching is learning to shape questions that spark fresh thinking, draw out what matters most, and invite others to step into leadership without relying on you to carry the conversation. This program meets you where you are and helps you take that skill further—expanding your range, your impact, and the outcomes your conversations create.
You’ll work with a practical coaching framework grounded in the ICF Core Competencies. You’ll learn how to stay in the coaching stance—listening deeply, asking better questions, and helping others generate their own insight and action.
Leading through coaching also means shifting from traditional patterns to partnering more often and more intentionally. This program is all about deepening that shift, so others bring more clarity, ownership, and momentum to the work at hand.
Learning Goals
- Deep understanding of Professional Coaching, with a focus on the ICF Core Competencies and the behaviors defined in the PCC Markers.
- Practical application of coaching in technology-driven environments—across individuals, teams, and broader organizational contexts.
- To prepare you for ICF PCC credentialing
Scheduling
You have 18 months of access to the material with the exception of mentor coaching. That is a set 10 hours. The amount of time it will take to complete the program is up to you, but may vary from 9-18 months depending on your time investment. The modules are offered on a regular basis between 9am and 11pm in the Eastern US time zone during the week and sometimes on the weekend. The exact days and times vary from week to week. All modules in the program are 1 hour sessions; some modules are taken multiple times either for the practice or to focus on different areas.
Intended Participants
This program is for leaders in tech—people who shape outcomes through their ideas, influence, and interactions with others. You may be a manager, team lead, architect, staff+ engineer, product manager, or a change agent working across functions. Formal authority isn’t required—what matters is how others see you.
From the perspective of this program, leadership includes things like:
- Stepping up where needed—especially in the face of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA)
- Being someone others turn to when they’re stuck or thinking something through
- Contributing to an environment of trust and respect
- Leaving others feeling seen, encouraged, and more capable
- Being sought out for your counsel and perspective
- Thinking in systems—seeing patterns, implications, and connections
- Focused on delivering value—to the business, the team, and the people they serve
- Saying what needs to be said, even when it’s uncomfortable
- Influencing without authority
- Modeling curiosity, reflection, and introspection
Whether you’re already demonstrating these qualities or aspiring to grow into them, this program meets you there.
Participants come from a range of domains—engineering, product, UX, operations, data, and program leadership—both in software companies and in tech-enabled industries like healthtech, edtech, fintech, and biotech.
There are no formal prerequisites. If you’re ready to explore what coaching adds to your leadership, you’re in the right place.
