Peer Coaching
Throughout the program, to practice what you are learning, you will engage in peer coaching. For peer coaching, you will arrange a time and place (most likely a video call) to practice coaching with another participant in the program. One of you will coach and the other will be the coachee. You can do as much peer coaching as you want, but the minimum required is 12 hours, 6 as coach and 6 as coachee.
PART 1
In part one, you will learn the essence of professional coaching: rapport building, determining the purpose of the session, the significance of the session purpose, exploration, partnering for follow-though, and supporting the coachee in their learning and growth. Although this part can be used to submit for an ACC credential, it is completely oriented toward taking you to the PCC level of coaching and sets the foundation for getting there in Part 2.
PART 2
In part two, you will add depth and breadth to your coaching skills by making coaching a natural extension of who you are as well as adding many new skills. There is also much more rigor in this part of the program. You will be getting more detailed feedback about your coaching skills and more opportunities to stretch and discover more about yourself and your coaching style.
Mentor Coaching
In mentor coaching, which is included in the full program, you will receive feedback from a PCC level coach that has been specifically trained in providing feedback on your coaching. You can start this at any time. However, you must receive your mentoring hours over at least a 3 month period, and it is best to start after you have completed at least 45 hours of training and then interleave the mentor coaching throughout the rest of your training hours.
Integrating Coaching into your role
Part of the expectations of your role is to serve as an expert, leader, and/or manager. Learn how to use coaching as part of your role via coaching agreements, using a coaching mindset even when imparting expertise, pro-actively educating people on what coaching is and its value, and more.
In addition to the training, we offer ongoing support for your growth and career that starts before you even enroll. We’ll share all of the latest information on how to find organizations that are looking for leaders that leverage coaching, what’s emerging in leading through coaching and more.
